Sad news - I sold the Rancher (video)

Howdy Honda friends,

Today I posted a video to my YT channel of saying farewell to our 2016 Honda Rancher. I already miss it terribly. Our Rancher was the best overall ATV ownership experience I've had yet. Honda really nailed it with these new Ranchers. We bought it brand new, and during the 22 months we owned it we put 3225 miles and 341.5 hours on it. All trouble-free with lots of smiles and laughs.

Why? I am embarking on a new career path, which really puts a crimp on our finances. As is our practice, we budget strictly and we cut costs anywhere necessary to live within our needs - no handouts needed. However, I embark on this new career path with the hope that in the next 2-4 years we feel comfortable financially with another new quad on the budget. I'm sure many of you understand. In the meantime, I have generous neighbors and friends who let me use their quads, and in exchange I maintain them. So I still have access to a handful of Hondas.

My Rancher became one of the strongest proponents on Youtube of Honda's current generation of Ranchers and utility ATVs. I have received many messages of people thanking me for my videos (111 of them) of this Rancher in action, saying they bought their own new Rancher because of my channel.

I was tough to watch another dude drive away with MY quad. ugh

well that sucks, but we all should live within our means, I think if more folks did so, it be a much better world

and like in life, there will always be more things you can buy later on when things allow so.

and who know's maybe Honda some day will come out with a even more sporty 4x4 atv LOL

Surely just parking it in the garage for the next few years would have been fine, no? I never sell things unless I know I’m getting a better deal from selling it.
Anyhow, I should imagine that was a difficult time watching your ATV going down the road, you sure did love that Rancher, the bond between man and machine is like a man and his dog!

Thanks. It honestly hurts right now, because quadding is a big deal to me. But like you say, 2-4 years will pass.

"...is like a man and his dog." True that. I feel like I sold my friend.

You're right. Your words remind me of something my father told me when I was in high school 20 years ago: "There are jillions of cars out there son. There will always be another one you'll love." Seems to be the case with quads too.

As said above Creed, stock around, hope to see videos when you borrow your neighbors ATV. You were the king of videos and reviews on your Rancher.
Hey, who knows, you may end up benefiting from this sale your new career could lead you to a new Foreman in a few years :-)

Yea, gotta get the priorities straight, so good for you. They are machines & come & go, can be replaced. ..having said that, you ARE getting another ATV again, someday...arent you? :O
