plus up my way, far too many property owners dis like atv 's on there lands as is, so I stay on trails, and don't go out of my way no more to find mud
but agree it was fun when I was younger and dumber Lol
I used to also but when I seen what it did to grandpa's 300 I stopped, I dont want my shocks to rust out, and it's a pain to clean up every time. So I go through light mud or avoid it.

I go riding with the wife and I can't keep her out of the mud lol. We just cruise at slow speeds on the trails and look for any fun on the way.
We ride older quads so I'm not too concerned with a full wash down, just hit it with the hose in all the main parts then park them.

No mud for me. In fact, we close trails when they get muddy, or have water sitting on them or running down them. The reason is 'erosion'. The erosion that takes place when one drives through mud is huge. For the sake of your atv, and the environment, I recommend going around the mud.

Living in British Columbia with it's ten's of thousands of forestry roads to explore ...... I could never see the point of hanging around a mudhole beating your machinery to the fail point, when around the next bend in that old road there could be a herd of elk or a bear, or ?
I guess if you live in areas where travel is restricted, a mudhole is the only reason to have a quad .....
My trucks, quads, and my motorcycle are older ...... the newest being a '02 Dodge/Cummins ....

So... this may be a bit of a generalization here... but the guys that want their quads to last go around the mud, and the guys who can't help them selves go through the mud!

well good for you, but not everyone has the budget to allow for spending money on breaking things or just try there hardest to make there things last, cause they cannot afford to buy more or new again
some times life has a way of making you NOT do things even if you might want to, and again, age, as the yrs pass of , being there and done that, you get tired of it
spent 20+ yrs doing serious off roading, not much I haven't done, over and over and over
and mud riding falls into that these days
older I get I guess the more I find better ways to spend my money on!, and the thrill of trying to see what will happen isn't there any more
to you guys that enjoy and can afford,
by all mean have at it
but don';t forget that cause someone doesn't do what you do, its not without just reasons
every one has there own ways to have fun
just maybe post some pic's when your having at it
even guys like me that don't go in the mud can still enjoy seeing folks in it
all the more so whan you's get stuck, and or break stuff
brings back memories for us , both good and bad LOL
