Most 4-wheeler problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!!

You only need two tools in life -- WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

No, I've never put an oil filter in backwards, but I have seen a few other people do it. I learned the hard way about using the wrong oil, causing the clutches to start slipping.

yeah, I sucked the old gas out of it yesterday and put some fresh 89 in it. Boy does it run better. Man was there a lot of junk I pulled outta that gas tank as well. Glad I got that old gas and what not out of it. I ordered 10w40 atv oil and a filter. Should work. But, the owner tells me that doesn't sound like what I should be putting in it. I thought it should work. With that fresh gas though it starts right up and idles after its warmed up. Didn;t help when I first went out to it and the gas tank valve had been left on for like 3 months. The spark plug was loose too. Man, do all those things make a difference.

by the way, I love this ice fishing. I'm wondering you guys think? Would would be a good quad for this. A moderate 4wd. Not too new. I used to love the Honda foreman 450 es. Would that be awesome for it? Start well in the cold weather? The 250 2wd is alright, but Something a bit bigger might be quite a bit better. I love snowmobiles too as well though. What do you guys think? I mean I like making it easier to get around on a large lake, and to use it in all the other seasons as well unlike a snowmobile. What one is up for the task?

I would say that any of the Foremans would work good. 400,450,or 500, but if it was me, I would get the foot shift instead of the electric shift. They are more dependable.

yeah, im glad someone else agrees with the food shift. I like the foot shift better than automatic, or electronic shift. Did you know all foreman es models come with a foot shiter you can install to use instead of your electronic shift? Is there anything I should worry about when it comes to cold starting? Had awesome history with hondas and yamahas as long as they had a fuel shut off and manual choke

That foot shifter that comes with the electric shift models is just for when the electric shift quits working and it gets stuck in gear. You can put that on there and put it in a lower gear, so you can ride it back out of the woods to home or to your truck. It doesn't even bolt onto the shift shaft. The shift shaft has a hex shaped head and the shifter just fits on it like a wrench fits on a bolt head. When you get it in the gear that you want it in, you take it back off and put it in your trunk. It won't work as a permanent shifter.

You shouldn't need tire chains or anything on the snow, unless you are going to be going up some steep hills. The 4X4's go pretty good in the snow with just good tires. If you are going to be on solid ice, studs might help.

yeah, very nice to know. i like to use tire chains when you are on some bad ice or packed, slick snow. I did not know that that foot shift lever was only to use if the elec. shift broke. Any thing I should be looking for when it comes to cold starting or running in the cold? I think I like the yam big bears, and honda foremans. Thanks, a lot of help.
