Question Where Can I Buy This Tow Ring?

I bought a used Rancher than I’m cleaning up. Based on the the current aftermarket trailer ball add-on, the tow ring in the picture would be great for what I want to do. Problem is, it’s at Princess Auto in Canada and shipping is more than the price of the tow ring.

Seems like I’ve seen these before, but for a different use. Anybody seen one or know who sells them in the US?

Good idea, but they only show the SKU. However, I did find the manufacturerís name. Maybe I can trace it from there.

Yep, Iíve seen those but my trailer can get a little heavy at time so Iíd like to keep the ball as close as possible to reduce the torque on the hitch mount. The one here would be perfect for my quad and towing needs, but $22 for shipping makes me cringe. Not saying itís not a fair fee; rather, would prefer to find one on this side of the border.

well I am not going to say its SAFE to do so, but I have used a 3 way hitch set up for about 15+yrs now and have had trailer behind my smaller 400 foreman that have weight in well over 4,000 lbs+, and a ton of times 2000+ lbs , I will admit I am not traveling far or up and down any hills, but I have had some serious tongue weight( I have bent the ball holder downward some what from it) on it and it has not caused me any issue/s for me?, but again, I cannot guarantee you will have same results as me! But I have been very very happy with this set up, allowing me to use smaller Pin mounted trailers, and or ?? and still keep the ball in place!

if you wanted to MAKE one of them I gather it would be pretty darn easy to do so!, if you don't need a Ball on the atv, you can just stick a clevis in the ball holder and have sort of the same thing?(would be wrong way vertical rather than horizontal for the ring like, but, if using to attach things to, it would still work?

I looked for those for awhile. One of my buddies has one and I liked it. Couldn't ever find them in the US. Post up if you find them!

These aren't identical to what you listed, but are similar in that they give you a hook point that is mounted under the ball:
https://www.amazon.com/Otter-Flipper.../dp/B00LDYI77K
https://www.otteroutdoors.com/produc...hitch-adapter/ (same as 1st link, direct from manufacturer)
https://northstaratv.com/3-way-compact-hitch.aspx (pic shows attached with bolt, but you could mount under a ball)

To me the flipper one is best because if you still want to use the ball, it is down and out of the way. I've had ones similar to the one you linked to, and the ring was great for those applications, but got in the way of the chain mounting point on the trailer tongue when using the ball mount.

But for the most versatile towing options, your best bet is to put a 2" receiver hitch on your Rancher, then you limitless options including this: https://www.amazon.com/HiTow-Towing-.../dp/B073TDLVZT but that combined with the receiver hitch sets you back $80 - $100 unless you can make the receiver hitch yourself. What model Rancher do you have?

Every 4x4 atv we have now has a 2" receiver hitch. Just got tired of the downsides of all the adapters options.

Thanks. Thatís a nifty hitch.

The reason I like the one in my original post is twofold. 1) It keeps the ball closer to the quad and 2) it has an easy method for hitching a tow strap and I pull logs of logs.

Currently Iím using the Feral Spread Eagle which is decent but Iím constantly jerking it out of position when pulling stuff. It does the job but drives my OCD nuts.

One thing I did do, is get a longer shank ball which allowed me to move the ball closer, where the bolt normally goes. This also prevents the plate from shifting if Iím pulling a trailer and brake hard.

I think Iíll get a 5/8 clevis pin and put the tow hook on it. Click the image to open in full size.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Is yours the IRS Rancher 420 or the SRA?
