I was riding the other day and a heavy short limb came up and hit my gear shifter with enough force to bend it. I lost power. The bike acts like it is shifting but it will not move front or back. If I shift it reverse and roll the bike you can feel the resistance same in 1st gear but the engine is not getting the power to the drive shafts.
sounds like you need to pull the left side cover, and have a look at all the shifting parts on/around the shifting shaft ?. BE WARNED !!.. do not yank the shifting shaft out of the engine !!!!!!!!!, if you do ?, you will have to pull the right side cover in order to get everything back installed correctly !. down load the service manual from the site here, so you will know before hand what your dealing with .
