there is a bolt cover on the bottom case to line up a t through the sight hole and the cam gear has marks that line up with the head.

Look on the back side of the cam you will see 2 marks across from eachother there is a dot above one of the cam bolts on the front if that is up your cam lobes are down but you allign the 2 marks with the edg of the head where the front cam bearing rest allign there on the bottom end allign the line above the "T" on the flywheel with the notch in the side cover. there is a plug about the size of a nickle or quarter you remove to see these marks. if you see the "F" it will be about a half inch after that mark. its best to jack up the rear and put it in like 3 or 4th and bump the wheels over by hand then have someone hold it in place while you release the timing chain tensioner. come back if ou have any more questions. the valves adjust at .004 intake and exhaust too by the way.

I hate to bring up a old thread but but this where we left off anyways it ran like a champ went and rode her 4 times but then it happened we ran threw a creek and it died. After 30 min of kicking it fired up but I had to come back threw it to get back and it died about 2 miles in the woods so yea it sucked. So I get back home take it apart to find my cam gear bolt were about fall out so my question is if I replace my cam should I put new rockers and cam chain or can I just put a cam in it BTW I already have a new cam

IF the chain is fairly new you can get away with just replacing the cam if your rockers are nice and smooth and no scorching or blueing they are fine. but that's not why your quad died. . . running through the creek did that more than likely you had some water get into the carb via vent or filter housing. Put blue lock tight on the cam gear bolts too
