Got the carb working after a stupid move
I rebuilt my carb on my 1992 Honda TRX300FW. i followed the instructions that are sticky in the repair/maintenance forum. When i out the carb back on the bike and set the petcock to on/reserve, fuel starts to pour out the tube on the bottom of the carb. What did i do wrong? any suggestions?

could be the float needle not seating correctly or a hole in the float

the float is fine. i put it under water to see if there were leaks. also the float needle it setting correctly because i took apart the carb over and over again to try and see if it was getting stuck and it seems fine. I used the new float needle and also the old one and it does the same thing. when fuel comes out the tube on the bottom of the carb, does it mean that the fuel bowl if full, and if so, were does the fuel enter that tube?

Did you set the float level? When the bowl over fills it bleeds out a hole above the fuel level in the bowl, sounds like the float level is to high, your funny pages should show you how to adjust

i dont believe the float is adjustable on the fourtrax. could very well be wrong....turn the gas off, tap the bowl with a small hammer. that may be able to free up the float and wont leak

Yep fuel comming out the overflow tube means the bowl is full and the float needle is not sealing. When you rebuilt the carb did you use compressed air to blow out all the passages? Sounds like you may have some trash still in the seat passage.

Is it coming out of the overflow or the carb drain screw? Is it possible you over looked crud in the drain screw passage and its leaking past? Wouldn't be the first time they started leaking on me after a cleaning...
