I always use the Honda oil GN4, or you can get the synthetic oil HP4S, along with the Honda oil filter.
My 2004 rubicon holds 5 quarts and you have to drain the oil in two locations (2 drain plugs)

What year is yours?

2004 Rubicon 500 4x4
Warn 4-2-4 kit
Front disk brake conversion
Deep lug mud tires
API Outdoors ATV rear rack organizer

Wow 5 quarts on a 500cc engine? That's how much my 360 cubic inch Ram engine takes lol

Rob

I've owned several Hondas over the years, with 2, 3 and 4 wheels.
Currently have a 1979 ATC 110 and 1985 XL350R enduro.

My2009 Rubicon takes 5.5 with filter change. That is because the motor and tranny use the same oil.I use synthetic from a local oil copany made for motor cycles and atv.Honda oil costs way too much and I get synthetic for the price of GN4 As well the filter is half price there.
