Rich I'm just trying to stop the bogged down feeling I get when in the mud. I don't sling mud 5 ft now. I know I should have more power then I do so I'm just trying to add it somehow. exhaust, EFI programmer or GR.

elovell, i know what you mean my exes are heavy and when i bail off in a hole in 2nd i have to shift down to first cause it bogs down so bad but i can still stop in the thick stuff and stab the gas and have enough low end grunt and spin the tires enough to get out. with that said yes its doggy but you have to remember its only a 500, you traded hp for reliability when you bought a honda! my next mod will be a GR but thats cause i wanna be able to spin 28s or 29.5 in the near future

well HL says theres is a 21% but i have heard its only a true 15% and james that makes his own is a cheeper replica of HLs GR i would think is the same % but that is the only ones i have found

You can add a clutch kit for around 60bux that will get the rpms up higher into the power before the clutch comes on which helps quite a bit in mud..

Deeper, you think I should try a clutch kit before getting a GR then? How hard is that to install and where should I look to buy the clutch kit?

HighLifter has them for around 50-60 bux,and yes I would clutch one before I spent the much larger jack on a gr,and installation,the clutch kit is mandatory ...You can do the clutch(60bux),get an HMF(250ish),re jet(20buxish),get a K&N filter(60buxish),switch to all synthetics(40 bux),and snorkel (25bux) yer atv for less than most grs cost for the parts( let alone the installation if you're not able to do it),and be making more power,having a better clutch,sound,running atv with a higher top speed,and faster tire spin when in mud...If that isn't enough,then look into a gr...
