Exclamation Cdi box question?

Ok i have a 99 400ex in really good shape the mods are HMF slip on exhaust, k&n airfilter, 416 big bore kit, and thats really it. But what i want to know is that are CDI boxes even worth buying? Ive heard bikes blowing up because of this and i really want one because i heard it can give you better hp gain on top end and bottom end. So if anybody can help me out that would be great and im looking for one that cheap like a ebay one or something.

i put a white brothers revbox in my 400ex when it was stock and just had a slip-on on it. and it made a little difference powerwise. never had a problem with blowing up and i beat the crap outta mine. my brother put a cheaper amr revbox it don his and it had a hard time staying running when it was cold with this box. it didnt do this b4 he put it on or when he tried my wb box and i also suggest a stg 2 hotcam instead of the stg 1

Unleash the Power with Pro Rev Box CDI Booster is a great place to start modifying your atv for more power to your TRX TRX400 400EX rev box 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 year models (This is a must have for this model, without this REV Box the ATV has no power). The Pro Rev Box is the perfect update to advance your ATVs horse power improvement to the engine up to 3-4 Horse Power. The result is more power on the bottom end, with better Rev out on top end power, easier starting and ultimately faster lap times. Easy installation simply unplug your stock CDI Box and plug this one in your ready to Unleash the Power. Plus Limited 6 Month Warranty. That's a tough combination to beat. This is one of the cdi boxes i want by pro rev box cdi booster. Seems like a good cdi for the price they want for it.

To be truthful an Aftermarket CDI really kind of tricks you into more HP because you are gaining extra RPMs on the top-end. They do alter the timing curve a little but not much you would get more from the flywheel key mod than the cdi the only thing about the key is that it's only for stock engines no internal mods. Get a high performance coil. they produce a hotter spark resulting in better fuel burn = more power
