Getting old is harder to take the cold --- I am 70 years old. What state are you in?

That is a nice one, I like the center light great for going through tight trails at night. As far as cost justifiable, it keeps the wind, rain and snow off one when driving fast into the wind. I do run in the winter here on mostly groomed trails, the club I belong to has two groomers. It a bad winter here snow, freezing rain and very cold at times.

The rider position on the Brute is setup perfectly for me and my height (5'11) and I have plenty of leg room. The seat is very comfortable on the 2012 for long hours of riding. With the eps and irs, I didn't have any back or arm pain after riding for 7+ hours. Just having Irs makes it 10x better then my old Hondas and it has diff lock which helped me a couple times. The gas mileage on the Brute is pretty average, nothing great, all depends on your thumb because it can eat through a tank pretty quickly. If your looking at one, I would definitely go take a test drive or just sit on one to see how it feels.

    Manny,
Loving everything about the Brute Force so far. The 2012 model seems to have fixed the small issues they had before. I just got back from the Hatfield Mccoy Trails and the Brute had zero issues. I like the simplicity and the large amount of low end power especially compared to my Can Am 1000.

Hey Manny what's going on? U been doing alright? Thanks for the input I'll defiantly try it out. I'm willing to try anything as usual. I deffinatly want to cover all the bases b4 I go out and buy a new shift motor. Everywhere I've looked its like $250-300. But I finally found one for $138 total at motorcycle goodies.com. If u need something u should check it out. I'm eventually gonna get around to fixing it but here recently I've had 0 time between work and the baby…not so much sleep tho, lol. But I'll keep u posted on what's going on. Thanks again ttyl

Hey Manny! How've u been? I hadn't talked to u in a while. Everything's going great here! What've u been up to? It's been CRAZY around here! As u know, we had a little girl last Thursday the 26th and it's been AWSOME. Of course there's not much sleep but it's worth it. She's as healthy as can b. I just wanted to hit u up and tell u thanks for TS kind words, we really appreciate it. Also I got a new angle sensor and it seemed to have fixed it until…it started blinking again after a few min. I got it installed and rode it for a few min and parked it because I had to leave, daughters ball game. After I got home it jumped back on it and road it for 100-200ft then it messed up again!! I looked it over and found that a fuse had blown, a 30A that says it goes to the motor on the inside cover, and by motor I assume it means shift motor, is that right? Anyways I switched it out and it ran fine for a min then blew it again!! Any ideals?? Just let me know. That me again. Ttyl

Hey Manny, can u help me? I got the new ECM in and installed it. Then I started the initial setting procedure that the manual said to do. When I just turn the key on the gear indicator read D,N,R. Then I started it and it went back to (--) blinking in the gear indicator therefore I couldn't start the set up. I did another code retrieval and it gave me a 5 code. I did all the steps and everything checked out but went back to saying faulty ECM. I erased the code and tried again only this time gave me a 6 code. Once again everything checked out and still said faulty ECM. I'm lost!! I did however noticed when the key is on and I move the gear lever to D or R, I don't hear the control motor coming on. Like I said I tested it in the trouble shooting and it worked fine. Do u have any clue to what's going on?? Do you know anybody who could help?? Let me know, I'll try anything. Thanks again.

Hey Manny, I'm new to the forum but from the little reading I've done so far you seem to be quite knowledgeable of ATVs & their pros/cons. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask a few questions. The primary purpose for my ATV needs are for big game hunting in the mountains, usually pulling a fairly heavy trailer up and down some pretty decent inclines.

I've had both a Honda Foreman 450 and Rubicon 500; the Foreman seemed a little under powered for the loads we pull and it's hard to tell about the 500 because I think I had a small carb leak as a result of my attempt at rejetting. What are your thoughts on the Rubicon in general vs other brands/models? Are there any better build years to look for or just purchase new? I know you are a carb fan from some of the discussions but, for my needs in the mountain environment, do you think I'd be better suited with something with FI? Thanks.

Hey man sorry I hadn't talked to you in a while but once again I need your help. As u know I've got a 06 rancher 400at, anyways I was out riding around the hay fields with my daughter. Well when we got back home I decided to wash it. I left the key on so the fan would run if it needed to. I soaped it up real good then rinsed it off. When I got back on it I started it but it didn't want to go. I noticed where the display tells u what gear you're in (D, N, R, or ESP) it was blinking ESP!! Any ideals?? Let me know man. Thanks

God only knows, lol. I haven't finished tearing it down yet.... It definitely contacted the clutch which it shouldn't be able to do, something let it move too far.... Probably a broken stop bolt but I'll let ya know when I find out tonight! This is my first time inside a 350es so I'm pulling it apart slowly by the book, lol.

I have been working on ATV's this past week. I just replaced the clutches on a 2001 rancher 350. Now i hope to ride at least a few times before the summer is over.

As for jet kit's, i personally only ran dynojet jet kits. and i havent had any problems. But i have seen others use the HMF kits and they seemed to do just as good.
