Whats considered abuse to a quad?

Is it alright to jump and wheelie with a 300ex? Can the stock parts take it take it or do you need to upgrade to jump and race? I pretty much just babey my quad but I was wondering if it would hold up to this "abuse" And are there any maintnence things to slow the wear that jumping causes? Also is there a correct way to do wheelies and perform jumps with the bike that puts less stress on it then other methods?

Sorry if I sound stupid asking this but I never really considered beating on my quad a lot if I didn't have to. Thanks for your help

The stock suspension can take a little abuse but not repeatedly if you plan on jumping 40 foot doubles all the time then no you need a good aftermarket shock designed to hold you under a load not the quad.

Send a message via ICQ to 69quadracer
You can sent your stock shocks to GT Thunder and have them revalved and resprung and it will make a huge differance

Yea the 300ex can take it!! If the jumps are smaller ones on the trails, in a field you will be fine. Maby a little sore because the susp. on the 300 is not that great. But it wont hack it on a real mx track.
To loft the front end just sit towards the rear of the seat, let the clutch out a little quick, give it a little more gas than normal and pull back. Just practice and take it slow so you dont flip it.

Abuse to me is not maintaining your quad! Check your fluids, change your oil and filter according to your manual. The manufacturers know we are going to beat the shit of these things and they build them accordingly.
