Slip on info

Well a slip on hmf help out with performance any? I do not feel like getting the whole system and getting the quad re jetted cause I know that's what your supposed to do if you get the full system. Again well a hmf slip on help a trx400 out performance wise? And if I were to get the full system and not get it re jetted what would happen?

i strongly recommend rejetting after you install the slip on. regardless if you go with the full exhaust or not. you will be running lean if you dont. add a uni or k&n air filter to that and you will notice a significant increase in power.

Yes, its bad to run an engine lean period. your more prone to overheating and detonation leading to engine damage over time.

Any time you increase airflow( which you will be doin even with a slip on ) you need to rejet. Engines tend to run better lean, just not as long. Increased airflow = lean, lean = increased heat, increased heat = meltdown. And welcome from the Volunteer state.

I suggest that if you don't want to re-jet, then just leave the exhaust alone.
