honda rincon idle adjust

My 2003 Honda Rincon i just bought had a dirty air filter so we cleaned it and rinsed it out, It was still a little wet.....we tried to turn the idle up and it whent up but didnt go down? when we put the air filter on it was fine BUT when we put the cap/cover of the air filter box on it idled high? I need help!

take the filter off and put it back on when its dry. maybe that'll help

we got it, think the cable to the idle adjustment broke, the quad sat for a while
