rincon problem plz help

alright here is my problem. at the right rpm my engine sounds like it is not getting enough gas (sputters and coughs). it doesn't occur in neutral when i rev the engine up slow or in first gear only in 2 gear around the 29 mph and in 3 gear around the 47-50 mph range and it wont go any fast then 50 mph. the quad worked fin till the cam chain broke and i changed all the damaged parts. my thought are that my timing may be off 1 tooth but just what to get some other opinions on the problem before i start to rip the cylinder head off again. any opinions will be great thanks

what YR ? I would check the basics filter in the tank, good gas, clean air filter , hows the spark plug. I never been inside a 650 "guessing from your name" but if you just replace all that stuff its possible you could be off.

yes the bike is a 650 and it is a 2003. i already changed the spark plug its brand new. the filter was cleaned like 3-4 weeks ago but i will clean it agian. the gas is good. but i never even considered the filter in the gas tank it could have some shit on it. thanks for the idea i will check it first then go for a ride. a friend also suggested that i may have some shit in my carb any thought on that??
