2007 rancher es shifting problem

Recently my rancher has been getting stuck in gear or just not shifting at all and on the instrument gauge the thing that shows what gear you're is flashing and it blinks 2 times real slow then it blinks 4 times real fast and the guy at my local Honda dealership said it was a 24 code which if i remember right he said it was the ECU so we left it there for them to fix it and they said they fixed it so we went and picked it up and today i was riding and it and it got stuck in reverse

Search ES

You ain't alone...

I suggest you search this site using "ES" as the key search words. Over the years there have been numerous questions and recommended detailed suggested fixes and preventative measures to be taken for what apparently is not at least an uncommon problem.

* Check, change and use the right/good oil
* Check, replace the Bank Angle Sensor
* Change the grease on the shift changer gears(?)
* Replace shift motor

Again, if you search the site, you'll find numerous threads on the ES system problem, along with good/detailed responses.

Good luck...

Dan
