Rancher tries to die when exhaust is under water.

When I get in anything that puts my exhaust underwater my rancher seems like it just looses power? No matter how much throttle I give it just stops making power and tries to die..once I get it in a bit shallower water it does fine. It is stock except for wheels and tires. Something getting wet? Some type of back pressure issues when the exhaust goes under water?

Re: Rancher tries to die when exhaust is under water.

The check valve in the drain tube of the carb might be messing up. Could also be electrical that's causing it

Raise the vent lines and put dielectric grease in the plug boot. Also make sure the air box is not filling up with water, if so you need a snorkel.

Vent tubes have been ran.The plug boot has been greased and if there would have been water in my airbox then that pretty much would have told me what my problems were and I would have said the "the rancher tries to die when the airbox is full of water" instead of "the rancher tries to die when exhaust is under water."...and of course I would get the moron award for starting a thread on why my fourwheeler dies when the airbox is full of water lol. Anyways, I have talked to several guys with stock exhaust rancher's that say with their stock exhaust goes under their rancher also starts just loosing power and tries to die. If you get lucky and get the exhaust back out before it does die it does fine..I believe it is somehow related to back-pressure. Guy's say that when they changed to aftermarket the problem stopped or they snorkeled their exhaust.

Shouldn't be a carb overflow, it's fuel injected.
