Lost my key!!

I have lost my only key to my Rancher. What should I do? Hotwire it or call the dealer to see about replacing it with the VIN?? Please help if you have had the unfortunate pleasure of replacing one.

If you decide to hotwire it,only cut the wires attached to the ignition switch itself so that you can unplug it,and plug in a new one later on...The stealership needs the tiny number on your key to get you the correct key btw...I'd try the vin number anyhoo, but I don't believe they can do it...

A dealer should be able to get you a new key with the Vin number. The VIN is located on your frame; right on the crossbar, right behind the area where a winch would be mounted.

Pop the key switch out and get the number on the side of the key switch and that number can be used to make you another key. You only need the last three digits of the number.

I went to walmart, and bought a dog-tag from the engraving machine up front. Put my name, and telephone number on it. You may also put "Reward Offered" or something like that.

I did this because I might go riding at an off road trail park, and should I accidentally drop my key I want my phone number attached to it!
