My Rancher shifts fine but........

Me and my buddy went campin over the weekend with a bunch of our other friends. He was on my 05 Rancher 350ES and I was on my dirt bike. Well needless to say the Rancher got rode HARD !!! Got it stuck once or twice, I drove it into a tree and pushed back the front rack pretty good. No I wasn't drunk yet I was goin through a pretty deep puddle and I guess caught a rut and she shot sideways on me right into a tree. Anyways its shifting fine but its alot clunkier when going into gear now. Also once its in reverse you really have to hold both brakes or the thing will roll off whereas before you good just hold one of the brakes lightly and it would just sit there. Is this just a simple adjustment or something more?

Thanks

Is the engine idling faster now? Sounds like you may need to check the throttle cable, it may have been affected by the collision with the tree. A higher idle will cause what you are describing.

I agree with cutter. It probably pulled the outer sheath of the cable out of place and it's probably just hung on something.
