I don't feel that PS is needed for most riders but for long days on the trails (9-10 hrs) it would be a definite benifit. Not because of the ease of steering but as mentioned above it helps with kickback.

I think its worth it. When I had the reaon it used to really wear on my shoulders and the ps on my rancher has really eased the fatigue especially on my right shoulder. Also it does take out some of the kickback. I probably wouldnt go back.

Yes the PS is good for going over rocks and manoeuvre in tight spots -- when going on the good open trails its not needed, we run about 90 miles or more each time when out for the day.

I would think it would become another item to repair on a machine that is meant to handle nasty situations, I have had 3 four wheelers without it and I cant say that I ever wished I had it, then again its never been offered. The steering wheel kickback would be a definate benefit but I think an $500 repair when/if it goes out would negate that. Just remember real men dont have PS....of course real men would just hike with backpacks....so I guess its a wash. Sounds like everyone on here is voting AYE so get it, and post up a pic of that white rancher!!

i love the power steering but i go to drive my dads sportsman and it is a bitch to turn when i have the ps. Also when we got the ps we asked if it breaks and what not they said they have never had a machine in for ps

Honda's power steering is very nice. I prefer it over other brands. I don't feel that I need it with my Rincon, but, on the Rancher, it is really nice.
