I'm in the process of rebuilding my '87 trx250x. I have it almost back together. My stock cam was worn out of spec so I replaced it with a Hot Cams stage 1 cam. I'm working on re-installing the timing chain on the sprocket and cam with everything below it assembled and am having a hell of a time. The engine will not turn over for me (it's sitting on the bench, maybe I can't get enough leverage on it to turn it over?) to help me out, even with the cam completely out and my brother holding the chain so it could stay tight and roll freely. I originally thought it was because I had no oil in it and the safety mechanism wouldn't let it crank over, so I filled it with Valvoline conventional 10w-40 motorcycle oil and it still won't turn over. Any ideas on why it won't turn over? Also, I can't get the little cover on the left-hand side of the engine off. According to the manual, this shows the timing mark I need to be able to see.

I had it on reserve before this happened so it might of picked up dirt. But the manual doesnt say anything about the filter. Is it inside the pump housing? If so do i need to replace the whole unit?

I have a set of 'Douglas' wheels (aluminum) I want to polish.
They are not hurt. But, I figure its a EZ mod. to make the bike look better.
What do you use to mak'em shine? What technique did you follow?

I was thinking a tube of Simi-chrome or Flicks polishing paste using a
wool buff with a cordless drill to start.

Then to finish, a 'Mothers' polishing cone and Mothers Mag and wheel polish to keep them looking good.

What can I use to seal the polished wheel sssso I don't have to repolish once a month?

Hello everyone!

My name is Matt and I am new to this forum but not new to forums although I usually stick to truck forums.

I bought my 06 400ex in 07 and have only replaced the tires before yesterday. I have a FMF Q4 pipe and an UNI filter with some various jets and spark plugs coming in the mail. I am getting the mod bug and hopefully this cures it for a while.

I have looked around on this forum for the past week and finally decided to register!
