How to "hot wire" a Honda Fourtrax 300.??

There is a Honda Fourtrax 300 that my sister's ex had in my back yard. It has been sitting here for awhile, and because its been on our property for this long, legally we own it. How can I start the thing without the key? How can I hotwire it? I see running to the igntion there is a red, black, pink, and pink with white strip wire. I thought about just installing a toggle switch, but I don't know which wires would go where? I have heard that the red and black go to one male end of the toggle switch, and the two pinks go to the other? Is this true or what? Also, why is the kick start so hard? Like it will go fine for about three kicks, then it locks up, to where litterally jumping up and down on it and it still wont turn. Then a minute later, it turns again. Whatsup?

TRX 300, on the right side of the engine - top - you will find a lever, pull it up and it should make it much easier to use the kick starter. I had a '92 and that is how the book said to kick start.
