A tether kill switch is REQUIRED for most racing... they won't let you race without one. There are 2 types... Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC)... You need the right type for your quad... I wouldn't use a NO for a quad that needs a NC even if they say it can be used either way... A Pro Armor (NO) switch may say that it can be used for a NC system, but they will also say that it requires an install kit... which means more $$. Just my $.02 here.

And... I agree, different types of racing = different set ups. One important point: You don't want to go so far in your race set up as to make your quad ONLY a race quad. For myself, my quad is set up for XC but not to the point that I can't just take it out for a casual trail ride whenever I want.

Setups for Racing

i have to agree with these guys man i run rodeos all summer long but i always keep my ex where it can be rode in the woods bc thats where it all goes back to um uni filter i went with a small bore rev box for rodeo stuff if you wanna push it watch out though they can hurt your motor Tires GNCC HOLESHOTS for the woods rodeo flat track definetly turf tamers small diameter i think that covers it for me if you are gonna consider lowering your ride get a cheap kit takes 30 minutes to put on and if your good your running with the big shots the only difference is your ready for the woods in a flash

I just noticed this post, haven't been on here for a while. I would see if you like it without the nerfs. Had a set of Blingstar nerfs on the boy's new 450r and he hated them. Said they were getting stuck on rocks and sticks were getting cought in them. I'm in the process of putting some stock pegs back on with the stock heal guards. They are a lot lighter and work fine. In XC racing a lot of riders don't use nerfs. He likes it ALOT better without them.

Definitely spacers or widenend axle + a arms if u have the $. K&n filter, rejet, and take spark arrestor out of powercore4 helped mine a bit too.

so I was just reading a forum that 450 are faster than 400ex,,, we just had a race on coke syrup and I got second of all of them lmao,,, first time racing on a track, I'm just your everyday back they are Rider,, my advise just go out there and punch that gas and have fun
