TRX450r or 400ex? PLEASE HELP

Hey, I am thinking about getting a 2001-2006 Honda 400ex or 2004-2006 Honda TRX450r. I will be doing some trail riding, hill climbing, sand dunes, mud, jumps, riding on snow and woops ( the mogul like things I cant spell it ) Basically everything. I don't know which ATV would be the best for that? I am willing to invest in a new exhaust system, air filter and some other mods. Please help me choose the right quad, Thanks for your help.

The 400EX is a great trail quad and good for the mud, hill climb ect. I cant tell you much about the 450. Welcome to the forums

The 400ex is more trail friendly as the gears are longer and you can really lug the motor down. The 450r is a beast. It makes a butt load of power in the upper range of the RPMs. The suspension is way better on the 450.

Yep the 400ex is a better choice if your doing all around type of riding. If you were more into only open spaces and track time you'd want the 450r.

I'm going to disagree, the 450's are amazing and a lot of fun in tight trails. It just takes a lot of clutch work to ride them. Look at all the top names in GNCC, all 450s. There is nothing like popping the clutch out coming out of 2 trees. Nothing pulls like a TRX450.

The 400 is a better choice if you like to just cruise. If you are a fast, hard rider the 450 is a better choice. The 400 will hang with the 450s in the tight stuff but as soon as you hit the opens the 450 is gone.
