I've used Craigslist a bunc to buy and sell a bunch of different stuff. For the most part I've been quite successful, but I've run into some flakes. That's just the nature of dealing with the public. I just blow it off. I will say this, if you have something you want to get rid of and you don't want any money, just put it on Craigslist for free. I've had some stuff that was too broken or whatever to donate that I've put on Craigslist for free; a waterbed, a broken bike, ping pong table, scooters that needed batteries. All were gone within an hour.

I dunno cause Ive never sold on CL but Ive bought 2 quads and a dirt bike off of CL. After hearing the stories of people getting killed when they show up to buy a quad makes me a bit worried. The last thing I bought was the dirt bike for my son and when we were headed there I told him if the neighborhood looked sketchy we were not stopping. You just never know...

Hahaaha lmao its craigslist and ya once i went to look at a predator 500 for 1200 in new castle de. But man i was scared becuase it was the "hood" and all the houses were falling down. Everybody was standing out on the sidewalk staring at me and my dad and to be honest i was scared. The guy was nice though but the vin was scratched off so i didnt even hear it run i just left. Craiglist sure brings out the weirdos...sometimes we use CL to sell horses after we train them and the people you get out to look at them can be quite nuts. I have also been looking to buy a nice 4x4 tractor, older model of course if they are still in production today and the prices these people have them at are crazy. Now i went and looked at a 2005 farmtrac 555 and the guy was asking 10,700 for it. Now there are no farmtrac dealers in the usa anymore, only india from what i researched, making parts for this machine alittle harder to get. So i was telling the guy that parts might be ok to come by now, but 5 - 10 years from now parts may be very hard to get so when i offered 7500 and he wasnt interested i told him my max would be 8k that id be willing to spend. Well low and behold i seen that same exact tractor at one of the big tractor auctions in my area and it only brought 8k.....I bet he was wishing he took my offer cause after 10% sellers fee he is out 800 bucks..and if he bought it back then thats still 800 out of his pocket to pay the sellers fee lol..

If Farmtrac still had dealers in the usa then the price the guy was asking would be a good price for the tractor. (Some ford parts are interchangeable but he didnt know that so thats his fault for not knowing his own tractor)

Basically ive learned that people on craiglist will tend to ask for a decent chunk more money for their goods than what they would normally bring at an auction setting. So since i visit a few auctions a year (not alot really), i have at least an idea of what some things might be going for and when i make an offer to someone on craiglist ill try to not offer more than what i think itll go for at an auction (unless i really like the item or the seller seems like a good person).
