Wisconsin License Plate law???

Does anyone else think it is just dumb to require a license plate on an atv when it is still not allowed on high ways and certain roads? If we have to go through the trouble of making or buying the license we should be able to go on highways if our quad can support and handle it.

I hear ya, im in WI too. Also in effect June 1st was their registration law. Any atv in the state for more than 15 days must have up-to-date registration regardless of where in the state or how often it is operated. ONLY exception was if the ATV is used for advertising purposes.

We have to register in NH too but it's just 2 stickers we have to put on the ATV. It's really easy to register, basically just go to any agent and fill out a form. It cost $55/year but some of the money does go to trail maintenance so at least not all of it is going to the state, but it is a big money maker for them.

The out of staters really get screwed because even if they want to ride here for a weekend they have to buy a 1 month registration for $38 or a full year for $74.

I was just up there visiting family and it cost me $20 per quad for a five day registration. Just a sticker as out of state ATV's didn't require a plate. The plates that are required are just a motorcycle sized placard that shows the registration number in large easy to read print.

ya im pretty sure everywhere you need the registration stickers but now some states are adding the new License plate laws. Which is a bigger hassle to make or buy. But i guess it could be worse, they could make you buy license plates from the state but you can make them for free. And on the utility four wheelers it isnt too hard, but on the sport you cant just put it on the grab bar because it will block the rear tail light.
