cleaning a gas tank''

I am putting a gas tank on my trx, it's in great shape , but it's been out of use for a couple of years. The inside looks clean, There must be some crap in it because it got my carb dirty when I put it on and ran the gas through without thinking. I have it back off, I cleaned my carb. What's the best way of cleaning it out?

drain it and rinse out and check the valve when you install it next put about 1/3 can of the good ole seafoam in it and enjoy

I agree with putting some gas in the tank and swishing it around but 1/3 of a can of SeaFoam is way too much! SeaFoam directions say 1oz for every gallon of gas

I put a half gallon of gas in and shook it around real good to all over and poured it out in a plastic container, it took out the debris. Thanks Alot!
