since when did cannondale start making atv's lol ive never heard of it but some guy near me is selling his cannondale 440e thats not in the best condition for $3500... it must be rare or somethin because i wouldnt pay that.

Ive heard of them. I think i saw one once and it looked like how the scooters have the open space in front of rider where the gas tank is normally but you could rest your feet and legs there.

They are somewhat rare, but so are their replacement parts. Cannondale made the quads for a few years, and they were pretty wicked. A strong 400 and then a 440 liquid cooled EFI race ATV was unheard of when they came out. But, the machines were too expensive even by todays standards and tgey eventually went bankrupt, or near it. ATK bought them out and I think they made a few prototypes, abd they are supposed to make some kind of comeback. A very innovative machine, even had an aluminum frame that looked just like the Honda CR/CRF dirtbike frames.

Cannondale made these in the early 2000's, and when Cannondale got into financial trouble, ATK bought out the quad portion of the company. They were a very trick, race ready machine, with fuel injection, and all kinds of top of the line goodies. But they were expensive and had more than their share of issues. A very good friend that I used to race GNCC's with had one. Now, I own two 450R's and have ridden all the other Japanese 450's pretty extensively, and out of the box, none of them could touch the Cannondale, power-wise. It was one unbelievably fast quad.

Im assuming then they were sport quads so what I saw wasnt one then.

They were American made and were extremely fast they were also very expensive but race ready out of the box.They had 4 different models and they were the same except for suspension and ecm maps.

That is the cannibal which is the entry level and it is not worth what he's asking.It's maybe worth 2000-2500 max.They had crank bearing issues and had an update that put z400 crank bearings in it.
