I will take more photos when I get it back from the taxidermist. It should be ready in March! You can kinda see his cutters in this photo. After 8 years of waiting to get a tag in the Nevada draw system and only 5 hours hunting I forgot to take a good picture! LOL

Here are a couple of the boy. Archery season is just underway here in WV. He started the bow season out pretty good first 3 times out he shot 2 bucks. Then I shut him down. Looking for a Bear and a turkey with the bow. Then I'll turn him loose with his .243 during rifle season for bucks. That's when he makes the fur fly.t 15 of them came in around 15 yards and he smoked 1.Didn't get a picture tho.

Today was the youth rifle anterless season here in WV. Got off work and went behind the house and it was no time before he harvested this 1. He said it's all going into jerky.

We do to. We always make 2 deer a season into nothing but jerky.

Shot with a .270 at 175 yards. I was a bit low as you can tell by the absent left front leg. Somehow, the bullet blew threw the joint and either bone or lead fragmented and severed her throat and windpipe...she dropped like a rock, dead in her tracks.

May I ask the situation of the shot? Was there a high wind or was she running? Hitting 9-12 inches low with a 270 at 175 yards?

I will also speculate that she fell because she lost a leg, and then bled out. Probably took 2 minutes. Not dead in her tracks, but she wasn't going anywhere.

Post a pic of the damage to her neck if you have it, I'm curious to see what happened. Not bashing you, just curious to see what happened.

I always take a chest shot if it's possible just because it allows the animal to bleed instead of like a head shot which would kill it instantly and it wouldn't bleed at all.

The problems in America aren’t from liberals or conservatives, democrats or republicans.

The problems are bigots, hate mongers, fear peddlers and opportunists. History has shown that those people are far more dangerous than a few guys who talk differently or wear funny hats.
