I have a friend who once taught the hunting classes required for VA. He had a demonstration where he used a 6 x 6 inch square wire frame and he used several dozen rubber bands to create a checkerboard pattern on the wire frame.

He explained that veins and arteries were much like rubber bands, very pliable. He'd then take a dull broadhead and stick it through the rubberbands, and one or 2 might break. Then he'd take a sharp one and stick it through the rubberbands and they would just fly, as you might expect.

He said one girl in a class had to leave the room holding her mouth. I guess the visual was a bit too much.

In any case, bullets tend to kill by shock. Arrows by rapid blood loss.

I don't get off on the actually killing of animals, so I want to make sure every kill is fast and clean.

The problems in America arenít from liberals or conservatives, democrats or republicans.

The problems are bigots, hate mongers, fear peddlers and opportunists. History has shown that those people are far more dangerous than a few guys who talk differently or wear funny hats.

Amen. I do not reuse broadheads for the same reason.

Well I've been on here for a few days now reading the posts. I just bought a 1997 Honda Fourtrax 200 for the wife and been looking for info. Thought this would be a good spot to say hello to everyone and show off the Antelope I shot in August. About 120lbs and just under 15 inches. Scored out at 73 points! Just over 250 yards shot!Click the image to open in full size.

Cutters are protrusions off the back of the horns, they play into the scoring of an antelope. Like jd said, if he had taken a side photo you would be able to see what I am talking about. But hey, I've tried them every imaginable way, fried, baked, grilled, even saut'ed and you just can't eat the horns. LOL
