I have tried several times before with not much luck. I will say that the Chantix DOES WORK if you are in a position where you can really give it an honest effort. However it is expensive, almost more so than buying smokes. For me however, recent life changing events have made me lean even harder on the "crutch" of cigarettes. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully sometime I'll follow in your foot steps.

Chantix is a death drug. I have a cousin who was on it, long story. But he committed suicide while on it. Law suits are still going on. I know several other people that were on it and quit taking it because of the suicidal thoughts they were having. That stuff is bad news.

I didn't want to go that route. I am chewing the gum and I still have the habitual urge to light-up just because I am in a routine and usually when I go out I light one now I chew on the gum and tuck it in my cheek and carry on. I haven't ever tried the gum before , but I'm impressed it seems to be curving my crave quite a bit.
I'm sorry about your friend i can't imagine why a drug is produced that will have that side effect, they tell you in the comercial it will too! I would much rather crap my pants all day.

I am sooo very sorry to hear about your cousin. I have heard about the side effects, but I didn't have any of those side effects. I know that different drugs affect people differently so I believe for some people is its NOT a good choice. For me though it seemed to work well, I just couldn't commit myself to quitting at the time.

Do yourself a favor Billy. Don't do it. You might think you can control it, but you can't. It's a drug, and one of the most, if not THE most addictive drugs on the planet, and you will not be able to control it.

I finally quit. I suggest you don't start.

Moose, good for you.
Well I really don't care if I smoke alot. With a pipe atleast you don't have the rat poison and all that thats in a cigarette.

Yeah, thats true, they use the safe, non-addictive stuff for pipe tobacco.

All I know is that it's much easier to not start than it is to quit.
