congrats on the first deer. I shot 2 does and two turkeys with my bow this year. One of the does was in the blind with my 3 year old boy, it was awesome. She was about 15 yards away, and we sat there and watched her feed around for about 20 minutes. I was going to let her walk until he kept whispering..."dad, shoot her, shoot her" I couldnt pass up having the chance to harvest one with him being with me, and that excited about it. He was hyped...and is hooked. I saw lots of bucks this year, just none that were old enough for me to take. If Im going to take a buck, its going to be an old mature one. One of the turkeys I shot was a hen, the other a male with 1 1/4 inch spurs, and a 10 1/2 inch beard. If you havent tried bow hunting yet, give it a shot (no pun intended). If you dont have a bow, try letting the animal get really close to you. Being in there "personal space" is a rush of adrenaline. I shot a gobbler last spring at about 5 feet...my heart was pounding, and I was shaking more then when I shot my first buck. Good luck on next season.

Good size doe tino. I never saw a buck big enough to shoot. But the boy had a pretty good year. Shot these with his bow and killed another buck with his rifle and shot a bear with his bow.

yeah i like bow hunting to but i have to practice more but i love hunting and thats awesome having your 3 year old in the blind when your 3 i wish my dad did that but i did everything to go in the woods if my dad had to go do something i usually went also. This year was so wierd i could not find the deer and i hunted every day i could and i shot this one at night. i would rather shoot them at night also. And by night i mean afternoon
